Standard Counselling Fees

50 minute counselling session

$220 – during business hours (Medicare rebate offered up to $93.35)

$230 – after business hours (Medicare rebate offered up to $93.35

$230- weekend appointments

 

EMDR session

$220 – EMDR session during business hours (Medicare rebate offered up to $93.35)

$230 – EMDR session after business hours (Medicare rebate offered up to $93.35) 

$330 – 90 minute EMDR session (90-minute is optional or as assessed by therapist)

Cancellation Fees

If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please contact Green Life Psychology as soon as possible to ensure that your appointment can be offered to someone else. In the event of a cancellation, the following cancellation fees will apply:

  • Less than 24 hours notice= full session fee amount will apply (Monday appointments need to be cancelled by Friday at 4pm otherwise the full cancellation fee will apply)

*Rebates are not applicable to cancellation fees

Rebates

You do not require a referral to attend a counselling or Neurofeedback session, however some referrals mean that you are entitled to a rebate. Rebates are outlined below.

Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative

If you are struggling with mental health issues, you will likely be eligible for a referral from a GP or paediatrician. This entitles you to an initial 6 rebated counselling sessions. Green Life Psychology practitioners can then request a further 4 sessions on your behalf. This means you can get up to 10 Medicare rebated sessions per calendar year.

Department of Veterans’ Affairs

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs provide ongoing mental health support for past and present members. It is not always necessary to prove that your military service was the cause of your mental health difficulties. Some Green Life Psychology practitioners are able to provide services that are supported by Veterans’ Affairs.

Helping Children with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)

A government initiative has been started to help children with Autism spectrum disorder. Some children will be able to receive 20 services (across assessment and treatment). This is available if a management plan was in place prior to the child turning 13 and the services need to be completed before the child is 15.

Chronic Disease Management Plan

Chronic disease can result in difficult life style changes. Medicare has acknowledged that changes in life style can best be supported through mental health care. Under the Chronic Disease Management Service, we are able to request five more sessions for mental health assistance. This means that under certain circumstances you may be eligible for 15 Medicare supported sessions. Only your GP can identify if you qualify for the five more sessions.

Pregnancy Support Counselling

A person who is currently pregnant or who has been pregnant in the preceding 12 months, and who is concerned about that pregnancy, may claim Medicare benefits for up to three (3) non-directive pregnancy support counselling services per pregnancy. Vanessa Preston can offer this rebate to anyone who might meet the criteria (with plan from General Practitioner).

Private Health

Some of Green Life Psychology practitioners can provide private health insurance rebates. Private health insurers vary in the amount of money they will provide to support services. It is best to contact your private health provider and discuss the cover that you have. If you have private health, please advise Green Life Psychology at first point of contact to ensure you can make best use of this.
